TLCAD's newly Certified Teams |
Valorie and Tyler are a unique and star-studded team. Not only does Tyler help Valorie in day-to-day tasks but makes strangers laugh with his briefcase of tricks! See Unleashed and Tricks in this newsletter.
“Tyler is the nephew of my first service dog. He has turned out to have all the good qualities that Jack had and has brought plenty more of his own great qualities to our team. He takes such good care of me. I couldn’t ask for a better partner and best friend.” |

Denny and Sage are a dynamic team both on and off the ball field. Sage lends a hand to Denny at work, San Diego Padres, by assisting Denny directly and greeting guests at the ballgames. We are still waiting for Sage to throw out the first ball! Well. Okay, maybe retrieve the first ball . . . any ball.
“I passed my certification test one year ago and took possession of Sage - the 'wonder dog'. He has changed my life in so many positive ways. I plan outings now without worrying about how to accomplish a 'what if?' task, like dropping my keys when in my van or reaching a high counter for example. He greets me with a hug in the morning, jumps with joy as we play games in the evening after work and has increased my social life by being a magnet to everyone. His 'mascot' function at work has brought joy to the staff and puts many smiles on faces throughout the day. With the happiness and assistance he brings to me, I cannot imagine my life without him.” |

Tahoe is trained to assistance dog standards and uses his unique skills to enhance young lives at the Riley School in San Diego, an atypical special-education elementary school. School nurse, Ronnie Feehan, uses Tahoe as a motivator for good behavior, peer cooperation, learning new skills and more.
“Tahoe is an amazing gift to the kids and staff – touching even the most tortured.” |

Ziggy and Sandie team up together at her work, counseling teens, and in private life as well. Recently in a bind when her cell phone rolled under her van, Ziggy crawled under and retrieved it for her.
I love Ziggy! He has enriched my life in ways I didn't expect. I love it when he is eager to do something for me and then he looks up at me with those almost black eyes and wags his tail. I have met so many nice people, because so many people see what a great dog he is and want to stop and visit. I love how he adores my grandchildren. I love to take him to work and see how the kids I work with respond to him. I like that people stare at him and not me in my scooter. He gets me out and about more than I did before he came to live with me. I love to take him for walks along the beach. He makes me laugh. He is so smart! I love to watch him figure out things!! I have had many adventures that I would not have had without him!!! Poodles rock!” |
